What it means to be an adventutre student.

Being an adventure student has been interesting. Adventure helps you with your writing, reading, math, science, etc. skills. I can honestly say it has helped me a lot with my social skills as well. When I came to this program I had just gotten out of sixth grade and I only knew one person really well. It was really scary the first few months because I didn't really talk or anything. In class, I just listened and took notes without raising my hand even if I had a question. Then after a while I started talking to some people and now they're all my best friends.

Adventure has opened me up to so many possibilities. I can now do an entire project in the span of a week! exciting. Honestly I'm happy adventure is project based because it teaches me and my classmates how to do something on a deadline, and if you wait until the last minute you'll regret it. Another thing I like, or liked, about adventure is if you do wait until the last minute your project will possibly look sloppy. If your project looks sloppy you will most likely get a bad grade just because it was an eye sore.

If you go to adventure you'll maybe have the teachers all of us did. At the beginning, as I said before, it was scary. Until you actually meet and understand what the teachers expect from students. When I first met all my teachers I was pretty intimidated because I knew they weren't as easy as elementary school teachers, neither is the grading process. At first my grades were good then they started dropping because I wasn't used to all the work and I never asked any of the questions I had. Then, after a couple weeks or so I got used to it and my grades were stable again. Since I'm at the end of eighth grade I'd say I'm pretty used to it.

Another thing about adventure that means a lot to me is the fact that adventures basically a big loving family. I mean sure, there might be people you don't like, but theres no bullies, harrassers, or anyone that can hurt another person physically or mentally. Adventure is basically a safe place for fifth through eighth grade to learn and do projects. Saying that, even the meanest kids are nice to other people and I love that. Also the students who act immature and idiotic have the highestgrades sometimes. Now thats something you don't see everyday. Unless you go to adventure.

Lastly, to sum this all up, adventure is a safe, responsible, happy environment to learn with other students who will most likely all have passing grades. Most of the time when students get block H's or herman stars its adventure. I think this is so because adventure students care about their future, and want whats best for them. Overall, I've really loved my time at adventure with the ups and downs. Its given me new experiences that I will never forget. I hope I stay friends with the ones I have now even if we go to different high schools. I know I've only been to adventure for two years now but I already know that, even if it doesn't look like it, the teachers care a lot, and its best for students who want a good future with good grades.
