Team Game

My elective is globaloria.Globaloria is a game design class where we get to design and build games! Although I learned its harder than it sounds. "how can making a little video game be hard?", thats what I thought to. I learned my lesson the hard way. Anyway, one of the games we didwas the team game. Theres first a regular game, another individual game, then lastly the team game. The team game is one where you get to have two or three partners to build a two or three level game that you can try to get into the globeys with. The globeys are a competition where they choose which game is best. Me and my teams game was about math. To be more specific, proportional relationships and unit rates. Our game didn't turn out as well as we hoped it would, but we worked really hard on it.

What we did was we drew out the paper prototype, then we started drawing on flash. Drawing on flash is personally my favorite part because you can be as creative as you want. You can change the prototype to fit what you want, or maybe make it really colorful. You can do anything. After you draw the game on flash, you have to make sure its in layers or everything won't work, you start coding. Coding is the hardest part in this class for most people. You usually have to go to the wiki to get the information on how to make everything work. So basically, theres a demo piece that shows you whats supposed to happen then you try to do it yourself with the steps they give you. If it doesn't work I would either start over or ask my educator. After coding, you would add all the game ingredients. Game ingredients are, scoring, timer, etc. Then after that you would add all the layers you and your partner(s) did and turn it into the wiki.
